The Division of Cardiology at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center has been a global leader in clinical care, medical education, and cardiovascular research since it was founded more than 50 years ago by Elliot Rapaport, MD.
16 MD faculty, 3 PhD faculty, and our divisional staff are dedicated to healthcare delivery and development that improve lives in San Francisco and diverse communities around the world. Current faculty and generations of trainees are renowned for leadership roles with the National Institutes of Health, National Academy of Medicine, Food and Drug Administration, American Board of Internal Medicine, Foundation for AIDS Research, American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, World Heart Federation, Heart Rhythm Society, American Society of Echocardiography, Heart Failure Society, Pulmonary Hypertension Association, and Association of University Cardiologists.
